Abstract
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). SARS-CoV-2 is a new type of coronavirus that has never been previously identified in humans. WHO has designated COVID-19 as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). The increase in the number of COVID-19 cases is happening quite quickly and has spread all around the world. RSUD Brebes is one of the COVID-19 Referral Hospitals in Brebes Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of COVID-19 in the RSUD Brebes. Methods: This study uses an analytical survey research method, with a cross sectional survey design. The data obtained from the medical records of RSUD Brebes in 2020-2021. This study used a purposive sampling technique with the number of respondents analyzed was 566. The data was processed using the chi-square test. The results: showed that there was a significant relationship between history of contact with patients (p = 0.026), history of comorbid diabetes mellitus (p = 0.006), and history of comorbid cardiovascular disease (p = 0.004) with the incidence of COVID-19 in RSUD Brebes. Conclusions: health institutions need to be more active in health promotion regarding health protocols that related to COVID-19 and informing the public about comorbid diseases that can increase a person's risk of becoming infected with COVID-19.
