Abstract

Learning short stories is one of the materials taught in Indonesian lessons. Short stories material often has obstacles such as the number of students who feel less interested in reading or writing short stories. This is the background for the author to examine the use of Wattpad as a technology and information-based learning media that students use to find short stories reading materials and short stories writing media. The purpose of this research was to find out how effective technology and information-based learning methods are in teaching short story material through Wattpad media. The research subjects were students of class IX SMP Negeri 1 Padamara and the object was the skill of reading short stories by using the Wattpad media. The data collection technique used is the interview method conducted on the Indonesian State 1 Padamara teacher. Based on the research results, it is known that the use of wattpad as a medium can improve learning outcomes. Students become more interested in honing skills and reading through Wattpad media. In addition, Wattpad also provides an interesting learning experience for students.
