INNOVATION OF SIMPLE PYROLYSIS TECHNOLOGY TO PROCESS PLASTIC WASTE INTO FUEL OIL (KEROSENE)

Abstract

Based on community activities, it turns out that LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) is the most common type of plastic in the environment and is often used as a source of environmental pollution because it can disrupt the balance of the ecosystem. Usually this type of LDPE plastic is found in plastic bags (cresek), plastic trash bags, shopping bags to food wrappers. This tool works simply, namely the LDPE type plastic is put in the furnace to get the heating and evaporation process. After evaporation, the steam or gases will rise to the distillation tube or purification tube or undergo a distillation process to separate water and oil gases. After the distillation process enters the condenser tube for the condensation process for 1 to 1.15 hours. If this type of LDPE plastic is burned, it will turn into a Propane compound or an alkane group which has 3 carbon atoms. Propane is also a component of the formation of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or Liquid Petroleum Gas. After propane is formed from the combustion of plastic, the propane gases are cooled. From the results of this cooling or condensation process, a liquid in the form of fuel oil will be formed. LDPE type plastic waste can be used as fuel in the form of alternative oil because this type of LDPE plastic waste when burned will produce propane which is a component in making LPG gas. The gases in propane as an alkane element are treated through a condensation or cooling process so that these propane gases turn into liquids in the form of oil
